The Qingdao No. 58 School〔(Qingdao No. 58 School )〕 is a boarding school in Qingdao, China.〔(Exchange program an 'eye opener' for DHS students )〕 The school was founded in 1952, as Qingdao No. 5 High School. In 1969, it was renamed to Laoshan No. 1 High School. In 1994, it was renamed to Qingdao No. 58 High School. Now, it is a standardized school in Shandong province, and one of the Informatization Pilot Schools in China. The school campus covers an area of 96 acres, including green area of and construction area of . It hosts multiple teaching buildings, the information building, the laboratory building, the students' dormitory, the dining room, the plastic stadium, the gymnasium and the library. It also has its own campus network and campus TV station. The school has 165 full-time teachers, which includes 52 senior teachers, 1 national outstanding teacher, 16 Shandong provincial special-grade teachers and 92 Qingdao special-grade teachers. Most of them hold a Ph.D. or a master's degree. The motto of the school is "The pursuit of excellence, serve the motherland." "Knowledge innovative educational park, warm harmonious home" is the development of the school vision, "Fine education, good excited people" is the school's concept of education.
